This week we were divided into groups and we had to make our own patterns and beats using different varieties of instruments.

During
the week of Navratra the Fifth graders at Pathways World School Aravali had a musical integration of the unit about
World Citizens. They watched a few videos about south Indian Music and Korean
music. They took notes in their notebooks and learned about these different
types of folk and traditional music. During their leisure time members of the
Western choir were practicing their songs for the first performance of the
year. On Wednesday the members of the digital band had an unplanned stay back
during which they progressed a lot with their practice of the piece Paradise,
by the band Coldplay. The next morning the practice for the Indian classical
choir started and they continued Practice every day in the morning time. They
also watched a few videos about beats in the Hindustani classical music class.
On Thursday itself the fifth graders had their first stay back of the year.
Those who had signed up had an option of learning guitar , western singing,
Hindustani classical singing, Keyboard and many other instruments. Overall it
was a very interesting and musical week for the fifth graders.
